Andante Blues is a weekly blues dance in Colorado Springs, CO. Since 2013 we've gathered in Southeast downtown to celebrate and enjoy the dance styles that grew up around blues music. We may only have been around since 2013, but blues dance exists in almost every larger city in the US, and sometimes around the world. Along the front range, we regularly communicate between our scenes and choordinate larger events and guest instructors and musicians. We regularly offer beginner lessons that will get you dancing on your first visit, and more advanced lessons for those who attend more regularly. Interested? Check out our FAQ at the bottom of this page for more info.

Your first visit is on us! Just pop into one of our beginner lessons and stay for the dance. You'll gain a new experience, and if you never want to come back again, we'll respect that! (we hope you stay)
Blue dance has a long and storied history. If you'd like to hear about it, we would love to chat, otherwise, we recommend the following excellent resources:
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We recommend something with a full range of motion. Occasionally, especially on Halloween or Christmas, we might have a theme night where we suggest people dress up. This will always be noted on the calendar and our event invites.
Feel free to come alone or with a partner. Blues can be a solo dance or a partnered dance. We mostly practice Blues as a social dance, meaning you may ask people to dance and people may ask you to dance, but you are never obligated to do so. We find that people who rotate between partners learn much faster than people who stick with just one.
We're a friendly bunch. On any given week, there are a handful of new people and also some people who have been dancing Blues since we first opened. As a group, we fall somewhere between a dance studio and a club. To avoid any confusion, we've written up a code of conduct so people know what is and isn't appropriate in our space. We encourage all participants to take a look at this, and don't hesitate to let us know if someone is acting in a way that violates the code of conduct and negatively impacts your enjoyment of the dance. You can find our code of conduct here.
